In these five chapters of the Torah of Prophet Moses, we learn how God created the world (the heavens, the earth, the seas, and all creatures). We learn how God made our father Adam and our mother Eve. We also learn about sin and the corruption of human morals.
In the first three chapters of this book, we hear how God created the earth and everything in it and how he created man with some of His qualities.
In Chapter 3, we hear about the sin that Adam and Eve committed when they listened to Satan and ate from the forbidden tree. This chapter also deals with the subject of God's judgment on Adam, Eve and Satan.
Chapter 4 tells the story of Abel and Cain and the problems that arose between them. We also learn why Abel died.
Chapter 5 lists the lineage of the prophet Noah.
In these five chapters, we learn that God is a merciful and loving God who punishes everyone for their sin.
God is just and loves all people.
