John, the author of this letter, was one of Jesus's twelve disciples. He wrote the Gospel of Jesus. He also wrote three letters to believers to help them gain God's wisdom and courage. Finally, John wrote a book called ‘The Revelation of God’ or ‘Apocalypse’. He wrote it to believers who were suffering because of their faith.
This first letter was written to Christians to help them avoid being deceived by false teachings that were widespread at the time. These teachings stated that Jesus did not come into the world in human form. The apostle John said that Jesus was certainly a human being, and that God sent him from heaven to do his will. Jesus comes from God, but God allowed Jesus to become a man on earth so that he could offer himself as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity.
The sacrifice of Jesus is very important for human beings because it is the only sacrifice that can grant them salvation. A person who is saved through the blood of Jesus knows in his heart that he is eternally saved. This person no longer has any doubts because he knows that God will fulfil his promise.
Furthermore, this sacrifice is a model for believers. The apostle John teaches us to love one another as God has loved us. God wants those who follow him to be people who love one another. If a person says they love God but does not love their neighbour, that person is a liar.
It is very important for human beings to seek to know God, because this can give them eternal life in the future and give them a better life on this earth. May God help us to know his love so that we can obtain salvation and become people who love one another. Amen!
