This holy book is the second letter that Paul, the apostle of God, and his coworkers wrote to the believers living in Thessalonica. Since the problems in Thessalonica had not been fully resolved when Paul wrote the first letter, Paul wrote a second letter.
The evil people who were persecuting the believers in Thessalonica had not stopped their attacks. In his second letter, Paul encouraged the believers again. He advised them to persevere in their life of faith, not to grow weary in doing good, and to follow God's truth that he had taught them. Paul had found out that there were some among them who did not want to work to provide for their food. He strongly advised these people to stop this behaviour and not to live off others. He had also learned that the believers in Thessalonica had received word from someone that the day of the Lord's arrival had already come. So, Paul gave them clear teachings on this subject, telling them that the Day of the Lord would not come until certain events that were pre-ordained by God had taken place.
The words of this book come from the Holy Spirit whom God gave to Paul. They were for the believers in Thessalonica and for all other believers. May God help us, so that the words of this book may enter our minds, and dwell in our hearts. May God grant us strength to speak and act well. May God direct our hearts on the right path so that we may walk according to the love of God and according to the patience of his Messiah Jesus. May God help us to stand firm in the faith. Amen!
