This book is the letter the apostle James wrote to the Jewish believers who were scattered among the nations. During this time, Christians were experiencing difficulties. Even the authorities were persecuting them. The Holy Spirit of God gave the apostle James these instructions, which he wrote down, to give courage and perseverance to the believers on the path of God's truth.
This book offers several pieces of advice to all believers. It teaches us that pronouncing God's name with our lips and keeping his commandments are two different things. Having faith means nothing if it is not combined with keeping God's commandments. This book teaches that faith and good works go together. They cannot be separated.
This book advises us on how we should conduct ourselves in the faith. We must not discriminate between people. It requires us to help one another, to respect one another, and to love one another. It requires us to hold our tongues and not use bad language; to persevere in trials and not be proud. We are not to love the world and to trust God in everything.
