Philemon

This holy book is the letter that Paul, the apostle of God, wrote to a believer named Philemon. He was a Colossian. It was through Paul that he first accepted the faith.

At the time he wrote this letter to Philemon, Paul was in prison because of the word of God that he was preaching. It was as a prisoner that he wrote this letter, the subject of which was a request concerning Philemon's slave, Onesimus. Onesimus had run away from his master, Philemon, but God allowed Onesimus and Paul's paths to cross, and Paul eventually brought Onesimus to faith. Onesimus’s life changed completely, and he agreed to return to his master, Philemon. But according to the law at that time, Philemon could put Onesimus to death because of his betrayal. So, Paul wrote this letter and gave it to Onesimus for his master, letting him know that Onesimus had changed. Paul told him that since Onesimus had the same faith in Jesus as Philemon, they had all become brothers in Christ.

This book teaches us that the brotherhood that comes from faith is very important. If we believe in Christ and do not consider others who have the same faith as our brothers, it means that we have not yet understood all the good that we possess through the grace of Jesus, the Messiah whom God sent.
