This holy book is the letter that the apostle Paul wrote to the believers who lived in the city of Philippi. Paul had preached in this city before, to lead people to believe in Jesus. Their belief remained so strong that they began to help Paul in his work elsewhere. This story is recounted in chapter 16 of the book of Acts of the Apostles.
When Paul was imprisoned in Rome because of his faith, God allowed him to write a letter to some believers. Paul wrote a letter to the believers in Philippi. He encouraged them to live according to God's will and to be a good example so that others would follow Jesus. Paul reminded them that they could not be saved in their own strength. He said that salvation comes only through Jesus, who offered himself as a sacrifice for the whole world.
Christians today can be encouraged through this holy book. If people open their hearts to God's word, it will grant them wisdom and strength. May God help us to know the joy that comes from him. Amen!
